What is “Circle River”?

Circle River is a pseudonym I have chosen for my religious and spiritual life. This is where I will post writings about those practices.

Where Circle River is Coming From

• ☸ Holding a Pure Land Buddhist practice since 2020.

• 🌲 A bard in the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids since 2022.

• 🌙 Practising astrology since 2018.

  • 🪐 Focusing on horary and reconstructed medieval techniques since 2019, drawing from Guido Bonatti, Sahl ibn Bishr al-Israili, and others.

• ☰☷ Studying the 易經 Yijing (aka the I Ching) since early 2023.

  • 🧾 Completed Hilary Barrett’s Yijing Foundations Course in February 2024.
  • 🪙 Using both the three-coins and milfoil methods for casting hexagrams.
  • 🧘‍♂️ Broadly following Zhu Xi’s methods and using a combination of translations, in combination with the original Chinese and traditional commentaries such as Zhu Xi and Wang Bi.
